Overview
“Shred 4 A Cause” is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to spreading awareness, and raising funds to help support the Brain Injury Association of Canada. Using radical fundraising techniques, interactive educational events and extreme social media focus “Shred 4 A Cause” will spread the word and gain support for the charity the Brain Injury Association of Canada.

Fourth Annual Ottawa And Eastern Ontario Brain Injury Awareness Day (pdf)

This exciting half day workshop will provide attendees with information on how to facilitate effective communication between insurance providers, services providers and lawyers.

Topics to be discussed:
General Communication Issues with lawyer, insurance companies, and rehabilitation professionals. We will explore concerns surrounding draft reports, emails, text messaging, and privacy issues. We will also discuss balancing limited funding with the need and obligation to adequately document and report.

What an insurer wants. What can you put in your treatment plan that will increase the odds of getting it approved? What to do and what not to do. When should you call? What is considered reasonable? What is the best approach to advocate for your patient?

From a Legal Perspective What content is a lawyer looking for in a Report? Expert witnesses have very specific duties and obligations to the Court in addition to duties they may have to the client. This topic will be explored in detail.
