We are writing to you as one of a group of disability organizations and other health and community groups throughout Canada in the hope that you may be able to help us promote our 2011 Forum and AGM, entitled Keeping It Together: Mental Health across the Continuum of Care, taking place in Toronto on June 11 and 12, 2011. The event is hosted by the Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation.

The keynote speaker at the event is Dr. Jane Philpott, a Toronto-area physician and founder of the Give a Day to World AIDS campaign. Sessions at the Forum include topics such as mental health across the continuum of care in HIV and other episodic disabilities, the mental health of caregivers, HIV and aging, and personal stories from people living with episodic disabilities and mental health issues.
In addition to the Forum and AGM, on the evening of June 11, a reception and dinner will be held in honour of Dr. Mary Petty, recipient of the 2011 Award of Excellence in HIV and Rehabilitation. Dr. Petty has been a dedicated social worker and researcher in the field of HIV/AIDS since the 1980s.

The SickKids Centre for Brain & Behaviour presents the 2nd Biennial Conference on Brain Injury in Children – July 12-14, 2011 – at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, Canada. It is the only conference devoted exclusively to the full range of paediatric brain injury types, and it will provide a unique vehicle to develop multidisciplinary strategies for research and treatment into childhood brain injury.
Victim Rights in Canada: Reaching for International Standards, April 13: is a symposium at the University of Ottawa to seek ways to advance rights and services for crime victims.
